The Scotia area was a significant part of our local history from the early 1800’s to the 1940’s. It operated in the 1880’s removing countless tons of iron ore using the latest technology of its time. It boasted some 25 buildings and hundreds of workers with company houses, a school, a store, and a church. There was also a railroad with a station that could take you to Pittsburgh.
Join Bob Hazelton and his crew of the Centre County Historical Society who have been researching Scotia for over 10 years and are anxious to share and save the history of Scotia. |
