COVID-19 Safety Measures Update
5/27/2021
Dear GWC Family,
We hope everyone is having a good week.
You may have noticed the CDC’s new guidelines regarding mask wearing issued on May 13, 2021. Their guidelines state that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear masks in most settings (which includes normal worship gatherings) while unvaccinated individuals should continue masking for the time being. Similarly, Patton Township lifted their previous masking ordinance to align with the CDC guidelines on May 19, 2021. Consequently, masks will be optional for worship services and group gatherings at the GWC building from this point forward unless things change.
We ask that everyone be familiar with the new CDC guidelines and act in accordance with them as God’s Word and Spirit lead. We will not be seeking proof of vaccination or questioning others about their status and ask you to do the same. More importantly, we encourage everyone to be mindful of others and live out the ethics of Romans 14, Ephesians 4:1-3, and Philippians 2:1-11. We understand that there are different perspectives and convictions regarding vaccinations and the handling of the pandemic. Thank you for pursuing God and considering others in making decisions and demonstrating grace. It’s important to us to preserve unity as we walk together in faith to accomplish God’s will and witness for Christ in our community.
We’re also collecting input and considering how we might best manage COVID-19 procedures for children’s ministry moving forward. For the time being, we’ll continue to follow our existing measures in the children’s ministry wing and will update you in advance on any changes we make. We continue to monitor pandemic conditions and will update you in advance with any church wide changes to our safety measures as well. Worship services will continue to be live streamed for all who need or choose to participate online at his time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue navigating these considerations and decisions. Please feel free to reach out to us with questions or concerns. And let us continue to pray for the Lord to deliver us from this pandemic as we serve as intercessors of His grace during this time.
Trusting Jesus with you,
GWC Elders
Prayer Gatherings
5/16/2021
Revival and revelation happen when God's people unite in prayer, asking and believing God to accomplish His good will and pour out His Spirit. We all desire to experience and witness God moving in power to save the lost, free those gripped by sin, heal the broken hearted, and glorify His name.
Join us for prayer services on the last Wednesday evening of each month from 6:30-7:30pm at the church building. Children are welcome in the service but we'll have a few volunteers providing child care for any parents who'd prefer that option.
Sermon Series: the book of Acts
4/11/2021
Picture
Today Pastor Drew started a new sermon series based on the book of Acts in the Bible. It's titled Transformational Church and it's all about what we can learn from the testimony of the first Christians that Luke wrote down.
Series theme: The church turned the world upside down (really right side up!) by continuing the gospel mission that Christ initiated. The gospel is the “good news” of God redeeming the whole world.

A seismic shift in human history and God’s plan of redemption took place when Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead. The temple veil was torn and the tomb was left empty. God is on the loose and advancing His Kingdom in a new way. Any seismic shift is followed by a ripple effect of corresponding magnitude. In this case we’re not talking about a pebble in a pond type ripple but rather a tsunami. It’s global and powerful beyond imagination but it’s redemptive, not destructive. That’s the nature of the kingdom of God upon the earth. It’s unstoppable and positively impacts the whole world. What are we to make of and do about this global God movement?
Rooted Youth Update
2/23/2021
We are planning on studying scripture using videos developed by Bible Project. They have created videos for each book in the Bible that we will be using as we work through the text. This past Sunday we started with two overview videos:
What is the Bible?
The Story of the Bible
As a reminder, our plan will be to meet each Sunday night from 6:30-8pm at the church buidling, at least through the end of the school year. We will send announcements out if we will be off on a particular week. We will also include a zoom link each week for the video/discussion portion from 7-8pm.
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like any more information.
We hope to see your student Sunday night.
