Missions
In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus commanded His followers to “Go… and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.”
From this authorization (mandate), we are called to share Christ’s love with the world. Grays Woods Church partners with ministries that bring hope, help, and the Gospel to those in need—locally and globally. Through prayer, service, and support, we join in God’s work wherever He leads.
Christ’s Compassion
Missions, at its core, is all about relationships. (Matthew 25:35-40; John15:12). We accomplish Jesus’ command to make disciples by developing a connection with others guiding them into a personal relationship with God. We believe God calls us to care for communities near and far. Through local, national, and global outreach and partnerships, we strive to reflect His love while assisting those in need. We are committed to listen, walk alongside others, and point them toward Jesus. We trust that as we step out in faith, hope is renewed and lives are touched by His grace.
Our Involvement
God’s blessings, grace, and spiritual gifts are given to His people to motivate, empower, and equip others to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is validated by not only by our financial contributions but by personal involvement with our ministry partners with local, national and global missions.
We encourage individual involvement because it provides opportunity for spiritual growth and personal development, while also providing tangible support and empowerment in the communities served. Participants often experience a deeper connection to their faith and develop more compassion, while the communities benefit from the hands-on service projects, and both can benefit from the cultural exchanges.
Finally, a biblical culture of missions relies on prayer, so we must also prioritize prayer. In Matthew 9:38 Jesus asks us to “…pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.” As we emulate the ministry model of Jesus, prayer connects us to God’s grace and power. Every part of mission work should be characterized by expectant prayer.
Our Partners in Ministry
Our church members and leaders are advocates for the mission organizations we support. This is demonstrated through their passionate involvement with these ministries. In addition to providing the means for developing such relationships, these partners in ministry provide for discipleship of unbelievers, continued spiritual growth of all believers, and various tangible support attributes.
